Recently, a pre-release event was held for Kichcha Sudeepa’s upcoming film Vikrant Rona. Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan graced the event. During the press conference, the two superstars shared their views on the brewing debate over Hindi films versus South films. Does Kichcha Sudeepa feel that southern films are dominating Hindi film industry? Read on to find out.
Kichcha Sudeepa: I don’t want to generalize on that. Many films are made in a year. It wasn’t like every film was doing great. Because 2-3 films worked you can’t say that south films are dominating. There are good times for everything. If Hindi film industry was not making great films, then they wouldn’t have been able to sustain for so many years. It’s just a matter of being out of form for a while. You look at Hollywood. Their 10-15 films out of 200 work here. What happens to the rest 185 films? I don’t think we should be generalizing.
Salman Khan: We do our best with every film. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. You can’t say that yeh 100% chalega.
Kichcha Sudeepa: All of us are secure. Otherwise, why would folks from each industry collaborate with folks from other industries? It’s a great thing to collaborate and exchange ideas and endorse each other’s films.
Salman Khan: It was always there. For some reason it had stopped for a while. I have worked with directors and DOPs from the south. A lot of south people have worked here in Hindi and given big hits. I have worked with Prabhudheva a lot.
Vikrant Rona is slated to release on July 29, 2022 in theatres.
