Actress Deepika Padukone, after wrapping up Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaakgot onto playing Romi Dev in Kabir Khan’83 soon after. And while both her roles are quite contrasting from one another, we are sure that there would be a process of switching characters. And Deepika recently spoke about the same stating that a character never leaves her system. She also spilt the beans over how she switches between her characters.
In Chhapaak, Deepika is playing Malti; the character is inspired by Laxmi Agarwal who is an acid attack survivor. And in ’83 she will be seen playing Kapil Dev’s wife Romi opposite, Ranveer Singh. Talking about how difficult is it to get a character out of your system, Deepika said in an interview, “I’ve always believed that a character never really leaves your system entirely. This time around I took cleaning and organizing things around my home to help me cope with switching from Laxmi to Romi Dev in ‘83. It helped me de-stress and clear my mind of any chatter.”
Chhapaak is slated to release on January 10, 2020, and ’83 directed by Kabir Khan is slated for an April 10 release next year. For more updates and gossip, stay tuned to CineBlitz.
