Deepika Padukone launches lecture series on mental health for Live Laugh Love Foundation

Deepika Padukone, who is the founder of Live Love Laugh Foundation, thanked the media fraternity for their role in starting the “conversation about mental health.”

The Live Love Laugh Foundation which aims at increasing awareness about mental health launched a lecture series on the same. The foundation,  a charitable trust that was set up in 2015 to give hope to every person experiencing stress, anxiety and depression (SA), held the first edition of Live, Love, Laugh – a lecture series with Deepika Padukone. The aim of the annual event was to steer and shape the conversation on mental health and advance understanding on the topic.

The maiden lecture was delivered by Pulitzer prize-winning author & Padma Shri  Awardee, Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee. The event was held at Taj Mahal, New Delhi which was attended by Deepika Padukone, Anisha Padukone, Prakash Padukone, Ujjala Padukone, Sharmila Tagore, Indu Bhushan, CEO Ayushman Bharat; Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog, Dr. Renu Sawarup, Dr. Balaram Bhargava, Prof. Vijay Raghava, Prof. Gagandeep Kang, Sanjeev Sanyal.

Deepika Padukone shares, “The lecture series is to invite people from different profession from various parts of the world. Most importantly the people who are passionate about mental health and have us to talk about their journey and experience.”

Deepika, who is the founder of Live Love Laugh Foundation, thanked the media fraternity for their role in starting the “conversation about mental health.”

“I think as far as the conversation about mental health is concerned, we have come a long way. And I think media has a huge role to play in that. Sometime back, the news of director Shamas Nawab Siddiqui to collaborate with South superstar Dhanush in a mysterious project was doing the rounds. And now, the director has met popular South Indian director Karthik Subbaraj. It was learned that the two met over the weekend.

Elated Shamas took to his Twitter and said, “One who just finished and one who is desirous to work with the dashing @dhanushkraja. It was lovely meeting you @karthiksubbaraj

In the past, Karthik Subbaraj has directed Dhanush in blockbuster Petta that released last year and has announced his next action film Suruli with him too, while Shamas might join hands with the actor in the near future.

Shamas, who is gearing up for his feature directorial debut Bole Chudiyan that stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles had tweeted and expressed his wish to work with Dhanush.

We had waited for a year to catch the first glimpse of Ekta Kapoor’s son, Ravie Kapoor and finally, on the occasion of his first birthday which was celebrated on 26th January, Ekta made sure the audience gets to see the first look of her son. Ekta posted a super cute video on her social media with the pictures of her friends and family and we totally love it all!

The video begins with the iconic shot of Ravie’s grandfather Jeetendra singing ‘Baar Baar din yeh aye’ from his film, Farz along with teh many visuals of Ravie with friends and family. Everything about the video is adorable. The birthday celebrations were held in town in the presence of the who’s who of Bollywood.

Making it a double celebration, it was announced that Ekta Kapoor will be awarded India’s fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri this year. The final list of names of the awardees is announced by the government on January 25, on the eve of Republic Day.

Ekta Kapoor, popularly hailed as the ‘content czarina’ of the industry has helped to showcase more than 100 characters in Indian Television. Charting a path with unconventional stories from the distance pockets of the nation, her contributions have been very significant in the field of arts and entertainment. Ekta Kapoor has also made it a point to help and change the portrayals of women in society through her work with content-driven cinematic projects.
