Sourav Ganguly launched the film 22 Yards in Mumbai. The story of the film is based on a cricket agent who has his ups and downs. Along with that, the story also stresses on the importance of a cricket agent for the sport. Ganguly looked dapper in a black suit at the launch of the film. After announcing the film, the cast of the film and former captain Sourav (affectionately known as Dada) were asked a few questions. Barun Sobti, who is starring in the film 22 Yards, said that he takes time to be part of a film because is little choosy when selecting them.

Asked to confirm if he was approached by ALT Balaji for his biopic, Ganguly’s response was, “Is that Ekta Kapoor’s production house?”, as he isn’t familiar with film productions’ names. He further said, “I just spoke to Ekta Kapoor”, but he didn’t give details on what conversation they had. Later, talking of biopics made on cricketers, on Ms Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, he was asked who he would want to play him, in his biopic. Ganguly smiled and said, “It’s difficult to say, as I haven’t thought about it. Let all these films be made first, and then if there is some time and interest left in people, I will think about my biopic.” He added that he liked the biopics Milkha Singh, and MS Dhoni, and found Sachin’s biopic a little different. He is waiting to watch World Cup’ 83.

Steering away from controversial questions, Ganguly’s response was, “No comments”, as he hadn’t seen the episode of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul on the Koffee with Karan show. But he did mention watching Comedy Nights with Kapil. Even though Ganguly refused having his biopic made just now, he indicated that he would want to see if people wanted to watch his story and then decide. Let us know in comments section below, if you too want to watch a biopic on Sourav Ganguly.
