Exclusive: Aahana Kumra congratulates Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on entering active politics

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has finally entered active politics for the first time. The sister of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka has jumped into the fray ahead of the upcoming national elections in May. She has been appointed as Congress’ Uttar Pradesh East General Secretary and there’s someone in Bollywood who couldn’t be happier. Aahana Kumra, the actress who played Priyanka on screen in the recently released The Accidental Prime Minister is thrilled with the news and wishes to congratulate the young politico. “I’d like to congratulate her on becoming Congress’ Uttar Pradesh East General Secretary,” shared Aahana.

The actress received rave reviews for her performance as Priyanka in the film and Aahana reveals that playing such a pivotal character was a memorable experience for her. The actress has earlier shared how she was excited to play the role as Priyanka inspite of being a public figure is known to be a very private person. In her research to play the character, Aahana actually found her to be a very interesting personality, who is self-assured and not someone who seeks to be popular.

The Lipstick Under My Burkha actress had also spoken about her own political awareness. Crediting her family for it, she’d said that since her family is extremely politically literate and aware, even she is well-aware of the political scenario in the country. Meanwhile, Aahana who interestingly completes 10 years in the industry as an actress, says that she would love to be a part of many political films in the future too, but adds that unfortunately not too many get made here.
