Ever since Dhadak released last year (2018), there was much curiosity about Janhvi Kapoor’s next film. However, apart from Karan Johar’s Takht, which boasts of an ensemble cast and will take off in late 2019, nothing has been announced. So all eyes have been on the young actor to see what film she will take on as a solo lead. And now we hear that the young star is doing a horror comedy. But that’s not the only good news. We hear that Rajkummar Rao might be playing the hero in the film. The film will be produced by Dinesh Vijan. Insiders feel that Rajkummar’s successful run at the box office with Stree  (2018) and the rave reviews that he got after Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (starring Sonam K Ahuja), have made him a much-sought after name. These factors have made this fresh pairing an interesting option and a strong choice for filmmakers to cast together.

This untitled film will be a huge change for Janhvi from Dhadak that had also starred Ishaan Khatter. It is quite different from the period drama Takht, that stars a huge bevy of actors including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. While Dhadak was a tear-jerker, and Takht is a historical drama, the horror comedy film is slated to showcase Janhvi’s comic-timing. While details of the horror comedy are still under wraps, what we do know is that the pair will be an interesting one to watch on the screen. They will bring in a fresh attraction as they have never been seen together before. Also if the actors go ahead with the project, it will see an unlikely pair team up on screen. What do you guys have to say about this new pairing? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section below!

The untitled film will anyway be much-talked about for being Janhvi’s second big screen outing. Professionally, the actress often finds herself being compared to Sara Ali Khan. Sara made her debut with Kedarnath and then went on to give her first blockbuster hit with Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. So, Janhvi’s next film is bound to attract attention to see how it works out at the box office and to see if Janhvi can take a lead over Sara with this one? Or not!
