Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is all set to clash with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray at the domestic box office. Both the films are set to release on January 25 and looks like the battle is intensifying. We had revealed to you how the Shiv Sena and the makers of Thackeray were pressurising the Manikarnika team to postpone their film. However, Kangana and team didn’t budge. But now it’s look like the two sides have locked horns again, this time for sharing the numbers of screens. And as always, we have all the exclusive details for you!
Our insider exclusively reveals, “The screen sharing has not been agreed yet. The Shiv Sena and makers of Thackeray are keen on getting a bigger pie of screens and have demanded that all the single screens be given to them. The Manikarnika team, on the other hand, has demanded a sensible 50 – 50 sharing. But they are being pressurised to give away their share of single screens, though they aren’t budging.” Clearly, the battle is intensifying and how! One day before before Balasaheb Thackeray’s birth anniversary (January 23), the advance bookings haven’t opened in most of the cinemas. We wonder if a common ground will be reached soon or not?
Both Thackeray and Manikarnika are biopics of legendary leaders. Two talented actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kangana Ranaut respectively, star in them. We just hope that they can see eye to eye and agree on terms that work out for both the movies. Hopefully both the films will do well at the box office too, especially with it being the Republic Day weekend. Anyway, what do you have to say about this development?
