There’s good news for Aamir Khan fans and the industry folk who were looking forward to seeing the superstar play Gulshan Kumar in the biopic Mogul. Aamir has been roped back in to play the late music honcho. The development has come about after the exit of the film’s director Subhash Kapoor from the project. In fact, the actor has already started working towards looking the part. Aamir had even revealed how he was losing weight for his next film role. And now it can be revealed that this film is none other than Mogul. The casting process of the film is in its final stages and T-Series head and Gulshan Kumar’s son Bhushan Kumar are looking out for a new director to helm the ambitious project.

It may be recalled that Aamir had earlier left the project when Kapoor’s name came up in the #MeToo movement last year. The actor had issued a formal statement sharing that his reasons for walking out of the film was his refusal to work with director Subhash Kapoor. The Jolly LLB director had a case of attempted rape and molestation filed against him by actress Geetika Tyagi in April 2014. The actress had filed a complaint against Kapoor with the Versova Police station, post which he was even arrested and then let off on bail.

But now sources insist that with Subhash’s exit, Aamir is back in. Sources say that Bhushan was keen to have Aamir play his father, as he felt that he could do justice to his role. “Aamir on his part too was keen to play the music mogul and so they have now once again decided to collaborate. Of course, they will now rope in a new director and they are on the lookout. The film will roll as soon as they can finalise the director.” Are you excited about seeing Aamir Khan play Gulshan Kumar in Mogul? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
