The FICCI Frames 2019 had an enlightening first day as UTV founder and media entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala and Star India CEO Uday Shankar discussed what the M&E sector in the current scenario really needs. Going into the details, Ronnie had a few things to point out. Read on to know what he had to say.

Addressing the audience with the current rage dialogue ‘How’s the Josh?’ Ronnie Screwvala had a lot to say. According to Ronnie, the Indian Media and Entertainment industry has made remarkable progress in the last few years but still, there is a long way to go. He feels that the current system has a few structural issues, and that, the future organizations should focus on being more consumer-oriented companies than media-oriented companies with the primary focus on consumers. He feels that the reason behind the M&E sector not being able to recognize its full potential is because it has fewer entrepreneurs and founders in the system. “The M&E sector cannot just function with passion, we also need leaders, founders, and entrepreneurship,” he said. He further talked about how the whole process is not just about a good idea, but about execution too. He also addressed the recent step that was taken to amend the Cinematography Act and talked about how it will only profit the fraternity.

His address had many insights and was totally worth it! The FICCI Frames is a three-day event. It will include panels from the different aspects of the Media and Entertainment industry discussing the current and the future scenario of the fraternity.
