With the fresh pool of talent coming in, we are surely spoilt for choices more now than ever before. And one of the standout actresses from the new mix is Manmarziyaan heroine Tapsee Pannu. She has been in the industry for a while now and has already established herself as a force to reckon with courtesy her acting prowess. From action to romance to courtroom drama, Taapsee has dabbled in most genres and tasted success. Apart from her acting, fans also adore her outspoken attitude. She’s talented, intelligent and doesn’t shy away from calling spade a spade. So recently when Vir Das cheekily made a joke about her on Koffee With Karan, the 31-year-old gave a very interesting reply to the stand-up comedian.

In the finale episode of Koffee With Karan 6 which aired last Sunday, Vir Das passed a sneaky comment saying, “There’s so much pink in this set that Taapsee Pannu tried to act in it.” The Badla actress was quick to respond on social media and tweeted, “Hahahahha nice one. Just that Taapsee still doesn’t qualify to be there. I am looking forward to seeing this episode. All you guys are hilarious (sic).” Considering that Taapsee has delivered quite a few hits and has also wowed the critics time and again, it was surprising that she was missing from the Koffee couch this season. After all, a lot of new actors made their debut this year on KWK including Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria who are still gearing up for their first release. Taapsee’s absence from the show also made us wonder if Kangana Ranaut was indeed right about the whole nepotism thing and how KJo is the torchbearer of it in the industry.

In fact, apart from Kangana, Taapsee is the only the other actress who has spoken about nepotism quite openly. Not too long ago, she had said, “It will stay like that. This is the rule of the game and I can’t be cribbing about it every day. Today I have the power to call it out and I did. Thankfully, I am in a position where I have enough work. If I would have been in a position where I didn’t have enough work, they would have said I am doing it to get attention. That I am making noise.” In the same interview, Pannu also spoke about how she wasn’t happy with the makers of Pati, Patni Aur Woh. The actress was asked to clear her schedule for the film and she did, however, it was Bhumi Pednekar who was eventually brought on board instead of her. She called it a lesson and an “eye-opener” and stated, “And I signed up for it. I knew it when I started out.” Currently, Taapsee is busy promoting her film Badla with Amitabh Bachchan. The suspense thriller, which is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, releases on March 8
