Bhushan Kumar and Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer featuring Varun Dhawan as the lead started a week long schedule today (January 23) in Punjab. On landing in Amritsar, the first port of halt was the Golden temple. They offered prayers and sought blessings for the team which includes, Bhushan Kumar, Remo D’souza, Varun Dhawan and Lizelle D’souza, Remo’s wife, who is co-producing the film.
Bhushan Kumar said that they derived positive energy from the temple visit and were now geared up for the shoot. About the project, he said, “It’s an exciting project for our music label to be associated with. Being a dance film, it has scope for a lot of songs, and we have 12 in all. Music directors Sachin–Jigar’s album will be a mix of original, folk, and recreated songs.” The shoot in Punjab will include a Punjabi wedding song, and some emotional sequences featuring Varun and his film family, before their 40-day schedule in London, that will begin on February 10.
Shraddha Kapoor, who is sharing screen space with Varun, is currently training for different dance forms. She will join the unit in London. Actress Nora Fatehi also plays a pivotal role in the film. Bhushan Kumar says the dance movie is not part of any franchise. “It’s a completely original concept which we are planning to spin into a franchise,” he stated. The film is scheduled to release on November 8. In the meantime, stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you all the dope about Street Dancer right here.
