The long wait for the fans of Game Of Thrones finally ended today (April 15) as the finale Season 8 premiered. Yes, episode one of the magnum-opus series was released online. And the verdict? Well, it’s good news. The fans who have seen it cannot stop gushing about it. As usual, we were expecting a death by the end of this episode, but surprisingly the fans were spared this once. Looks like the makers are choosing to save the major characters for later. However, this episode had many high points, from the many reunions including the Starks to the cold vibes Sansa gave to Dany, to Cersei giving in to Euron Greyjoy’s desire and a lot more. Here are 5 interesting moments that you should not miss out on…

# Jon Snow finally rides a dragon

Yes, as expected Jon finally got on to the beast and took a flight. All through the seventh season, we were waiting for Jon to get on to Rheagal and fly, and with Dany’s insistence, he did so treating his fans in episode one itself. In the trailer, when the dragons flew through the snow-clad alley many speculated that it was Jon and Daenerys who were riding it and well, it is true.

# The Stark reunion

After Season 1, the Starks only happened to see each other in Season 7. But not all of them met each other. However, in this episode, not only do the Northerners of Winterfell, but we all witness the reunion of Stark siblings, Arya meeting Jon, Bran meeting Jon wasn’t this something we wished for a while now? Well, there were some other interesting reunions too: Tyrion meeting Sansa, the Hound and Gendry meeting Arya.

# Jon Snow finds the truth about his parentage

Didn’t you all rejoice when Bran said, “Now Is The Time”. Yes, that is when he told Samwell Tarly to go and tell the big truth to Jon. Well, Samwell did, as per our theory, Sam told Jon who his parents were in the crypts of Winterfell. Sam revealed to him that he is the true heir to the Iron Throne and his parents were actually Rheaghar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. But as Jon keeps honour above everything else, he didn’t want to practice treason towards his Queen, so we guess, this truth gets buried in the crypts.

# The Night King’s message

A year-and-a-half we all have waited for winter to come to Winterfell, but looks like the Army of Dead are dropping some threats for the Northerners. Yes, in today’s episode, though we’re glad to see Tormund alive, and even the men of the Night’s Watch, it was surreal to see when they come across a message from the Night’s King. A dead Lord Umber, surrounded by a whirlpool truly means something deep.

# Jaime’s arrival at Winterfell

Episode one ending with a bang was certain, and while no bloodshed or death was on cards, makers surely left us at the cliffhanger with another reunion. Yes, Jaime Lannister came face-to-face with Bran Stark, if you remember he is the culprit behind Bran being a cripple, for he pushed the boy from the tower in Season 1. Now, we will have to wait and see how everything transpires between them in the upcoming episodes.

Well, sorry for the spoilers, but after episode one we are excited for the next one to release soon. If you have any more highlights to share from episode one, do write in the comment section below. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates about GOT.
