Superstar proposes, director disposes! Guess who?

Some superstars come with a certain clout to dictate several aspects of a film, unofficially of course! But thankfully, there are still some filmmakers in the industry who hold the sway to over-ride the suggestions their stars come up with. This veteran filmmaker is one of them. Recently, this hit actor came up with a suggestions for the leading lady in a film that stars someone who he wishes to promote. However, the director politely shot down the choices. It so happened that while the casting of the heroine goes on, the superstar wanted the director to sign either of the two leading ladies, who are under his wing.

This reputed filmmaker has agreed to direct this film backed by the star, which is actually a promotional vehicle to further this new hero’s career prospects in Bollywood. So, while the director is giving in to all the changes suggested by the star, the filmmaker did put his foot down when it came to the casting of the heroine. The star and filmmaker are too fond of each other and have immense respect to be at loggerheads. But for now the director is refusing to budge from his stand. The star meanwhile has been sulking because he respects the director too much to actually show him the door! Also he needs a director of this repute to work on the new actor’s career and help him become a star in his own right.

As for the heroines in question, the star is insistent on two names, but the director feels that they look much older to the young hero. The two heroines in question are much senior to the hero of the film and have worked with the superstar on a couple of occasions. The chemistry would never work, feels the director.
