Earlier today (June 30), the 19-year-old Dangal actress, Zaira Wasim, announced on all social media platforms that she is disassociating from the movies. This took the internet by storm and while none of her co-stars have spoken yet, makers of the movie The Sky Is Pink have shown support to the actress.

The producers – Roy Kapur Films and RSVP issued a statement saying that Zaira had been a professional throughout and they support her in all ways. The statement mentioned, “Zaira is an exceptional artiste and we are lucky to have had her play Aisha Chaudhury in our film, The Sky Is Pink. She has been a complete professional all through the shoot of the film, which concluded earlier this month. This is a purely personal decision, which she has taken after much thought and we will be supportive of her in every way – now and always.”

Zaira in her statement today (June 30) had confessed that she doesn’t belong to the industry, “though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here.” She felt that she was moving away from her religion and losing a connection with her soul, thus, making this decision. The actress was last seen in Secret Superstar and would next be seen in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink for the last time. Other actors in the movie include Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Saraf. For more Bollywood news and updates, stay tuned with CineBlitz.
