Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival when the feeling of oneness is at its peak, says Himansh Kohli. The actor loves how Mumbai celebrates the festival and looks forward to it every year. “Dancing, singing, chanting the holy name of our beloved Ganesh Ji, the vibes are unparalleled… There’s no other celebration which has this high energy and positivity,” adds the Yaariyan actor on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi today, September 10.

Sharing his most memorable Ganpati celebration for the first time he came to Mumbai a decade ago in 2011, he adds, “I had just arrived in Mumbai back then and was shooting for Channel V’s Humse Hai Life and witnessed my first Ganpati celebration. It was the first time I also saw Lalbaughcha Raja, and it was breathtaking.”

The actor, who will be seen next in Boondi Raita (PLEASE CONFIRM),  however, is yet to bring Ganpati home but he actively participates in the celebrations at his friend’s place. This year too things will be a little different.

“I will get modak and motichoor laddoos, and do an online celebration followed by watching a film on Ganpati. With the pandemic raging havoc, I would not like to step outside and would urge everyone to do the same unless necessary. We have to be careful, wear masks, maintain distance if at all we have to step out,” he signs off by wishing “a happy and prosperous Ganpati” to everyone.
