In the closing Press Conference for Day 7 at 55th IFFI, Cast and Crew of the film ‘Hisaab Barabar’ interacted with the media at PIB Media Centre in Panjim, Goa. ‘Hisaab Barabar’ tells the story of a diligent ticket checker in the Indian Railways, Radhe Mohan Sharma, the character being played by popular actor R. Madhavan.

In his opening remark, Sharad Patel, producer of the movie, described the film as a satire with a serious message embedded in it. He added that after watching this film, viewers would be inspired to take a closer look at their bank transaction histories.

This is because Radhe who is acutely perfect in keeping track of all his spendings and who often gets described as a human calculator by his acquaintances, discovers a small discrepancy in his bank account that brings chaos into his orderly life. Investigating further, he uncovers a massive scam draining the savings of ordinary people. As he confronts the ruthless bank CEO Mickey Mehta, Radhe loses his job and home but finds unexpected support from defrauded slum dwellers.

The antagonist character of Mickey Mehta in the film has been portrayed by Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who admitted that he was never cast in a comic role ever in his acting career so far. In his words this film is about a common man versus a whole big system.

Shedding light on her character of P Subhas, Actress Kirti Kulhari expressed that despite being a strict police officer in the film, there is a romantic angle to her character that develops during a train journey. She said the purity and innocence of her role was something new, which she really enjoyed portraying on screen. She also stated, “as an actor the biggest compliment for me would be that I can portray any kind of character and ‘Hisaab Barabar’ is obviously giving an opportunity to take a  step in that direction”.

‘Hisaab’ in ‘Hisaab Barabar’ gets settled finally when Radhe learns that love and relationships can’t be quantified like numbers.
