“Badshah” Shah Rukh Khan turns a year older Monday (November 2). And even though he will turn 55, no one can beat his charm and positive attitude towards life. And “Shubharambh” fame actor Akshit Sukhija can’t stop gushing about his favourite Bollywood actor. He calls himself a proud SRKian and even revealed that he loved the superstar’s last movie “Zero”.
Post the debacle of “Zero” King Khan did not take up any project, but he will soon start shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming movie. Akshit is confident that his favourite star will be back with a bang.
“He has played all different characters in the past five years, be it ‘Zero’, ‘Fan’ or ‘Raees’, and one of these films didn’t work, maybe because of controversy, or high expectation from the audience, but to be honest I loved all his movies. I agree that the story of ‘Zero’ was a little illogical, but SRK was fantastic in the movie. Why couldn’t people see that? The way his team at Red Chillies executed the VFX, it was just amazing,” he said.
“Then I loved him in ‘Fan’. Shah Rukh Khan playing his fan, it was a new and very different angle. I really don’t care whether his movies work or not, he will always be my favourite, and I am very sure he will be back with the bang,” he added.
Akshit shared that he has heard from people that SRK used to shoot for three films in a day, and said that his whole life is an inspiration to him.
“Though the working pattern has changed now as compared to earlier days, I learned from different people that he used to shoot three movies in one day during his initial days. His hard work, talent, acting, charm, and wittiness, have brought him here. He lost his mother when he was a teenager, he came to Bombay with no money in his pocket, but with a lot of dreams. He was shooting in front of a bungalow and he dreamt of owning it, he did back to back movies, overcame many controversies and rumours, but he is still on the top after 30 years. His whole life story is motivating,” he said.
The young actor even credits the superstar for inspiring him to become an actor. He shared, “I always say that I am in this industry just because of him. I have grown up watching SRK’s songs, and I used to notice his dance, and expressions, I have learned a lot from just observing him. I have seen his dance performance at award functions, how he used to enter, and how he interacted with audiences. He is the perfect host who sometimes makes fun of himself too, that is the beauty of an actor who excels in comedy too.”
But Akshit was in a dilemma when he was asked to share one favourite of SRK. He said, “There are so many movies, it’s difficult to call one my favourite. From ‘My Name is Khan’ to ‘Veer-Zaara’, ‘Don’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Baazigar’, there are so many movies that I can’t name one. But ‘My Name Is Khan’ is very close to my heart.”
“Even during my modeling days I just used to watch his movies and my love for him slowly increased. I could connect acting only with Shah Rukh Khan. I adore him and have learned so many things by seeing him. I won’t get affected if someone tells me that you are copying SRK. I don’t try to copy him but if it happens unknowingly, then what’s wrong with that,” Akshit signed off.
