“If I could be taken back in time, I would choose to experience this shoot again!”– Zoya Akhtar

Zoya Akhtar brought to us the beautiful take on life and friendship with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara on July 15, 2011 and it soon became the best example of the bond of friendship. The classic completes nine glorious years today and here’s what filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has to say.

“Can’t believe it’s 9 years already. I remember every single day of that shoot. I was lucky to work with my favourite artists in the cast and crew. Form friendships that will stay for life, grow up as a film maker.. and have an affair with Spain. If I could be taken back in time, I would choose to experience this shoot again!”, she shares as she reminisces the experience that the movie is- fresh and breathing, in everybody’s hearts even today.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara stars Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol in the lead. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin as female leads and was directed by Zoya Akhtar.

Considered a cult classic, the film brings the story of three friends who go on a bachelor trip and how their lives change post it. Breaking the shackles of a corporate life and their respective routines, the philosophy of ‘live life to the fullest’ still makes the movie and its essence fresh in our minds.

From the songs to the locations, the different bonds between the characters and the story- Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara continues to be the most loved film and, a favourite of one and all.
