The biggest festival of democracy, Lok Sabha Election 2019 ended two days back with BJP emerging as the winner. While Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister once again wishes from across the globe as well as Bollywood industry has been pouring in. But with wishes, the PM has also gotten a request from the Indian Films and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA).
The IFTDA issued a letter signed by the association’s President Ashoke Pandit where they congratulated PM Modi on his victory. IFTDA also tried to drew his attention to the film industry highlighting the concern over Indian films being denied recognition internationally. The statement in the letter reads as, “We may bring your kind attention to the Indian Film Industry which has not been given the status of an industry. Our films match in quality with the films of Hollywood and other nations but our Film Industry has been denied the recognition it deserves. We have pinned all our hopes on you and we know you will bring all the constructive changes to realise the dream of the best of Indian Cinema.”
