Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall, who thoroughly entertained us with their act in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, are currently busy chanting the slogan Jai Mummy Di. You would think they are doing it for Mother’s Day but that’s not the case. Well, let us tell you that Jai Mummy Di is the title of their next film and hence all the noise around that slogan. While Sunny and Sonnalli will be playing the lead, Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon will play the roles of their onscreen mothers. Navjot Gulati will make his directorial debut with the film which is going to be a light-hearted family comedy.

Announcing the news, Sunny shared two pictures on his Instagram account and wrote, “Sab milke bolo #JaiMummyDi aur bolte raho 12th July tak…Coming with @sonnalliseygall aur humari Mummiyan #SupriyaPathak ji & @poonam_dhillon_ ji in our next movie @jaimummydi directed by Navjot Gulati.”Coming to the storyline, the movie will highlight how Sunny and Sonnalli deal with their mommy-issues and how as a result it all leads to a whirlwind of hysteria. The film does sound interesting and since its coming from the makers of Pyar Ka Punchnama, we are sure it will turn out to be one hell of a fun ride.

Talking about the project, producer Luv Ranjan said, “Jai Mummy Di is a witty and relatable family comedy. Films like our very own Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and even Badhaai Ho that released last year have proven that there is a big audience for stories which weave in family dynamics interestingly.” On work front, both Sunny and Sonnalli were last seen in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. While the former had a full-fledged role in the rom-com, the latter played a small cameo in the hit film which starred Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha in the lead roles.
