Javed-Akhtar-Vivek-Oberoi-PM-Narendra-Modi-Biopic-Controversy

PM Narendra Modi’s biopic, that stars Vivek Anand Oberoi, is far from done with facing hurdles. Yes, after troubles with CBFC certification, certain political parties wrote to the election commission to impose a ban on the film. And now lyricist Javed Akhtar has also made a revelation about the film which has surprised many. It seems the makers of PM Narendra Modi have wrongly credited him for a song in the film’s poster. Yes, Javed Sahab took to Twitter and cleared the air that he hasn’t penned any songs for the film and was quite shocked to find his name. This incident obviously makes us wonder if the makers have overlooked the mistake, and if they did, how will they respond to Akhtar’s tweet.

Let us tell you, that the trailer of PM Narendra Modi was released a few days ago and while it got a decent response, there was a lot of delay in releasing the trailer online. Even at the trailer launch, there was a delay due to technical reasons. But we at CineBlitz told you how the trailer was shown without any certification. As per what our source tells us, the film has probably not yet been submitted to the CBFC for censoring as the makers are unable to decide it’s run time. The argument that has been placed for banning Modi’s biopic is that the film is quite political and it show’s Mr Modi’s political rise. The biopic will showcase the struggles which the Indian Prime Minister went through to get to where he is today. This morning it was announced that the film’s first song will be dedicated to the martyrs but now that Mr Javed Akhtar has declared not writing it, we wonder who will get the credit for the lyrics. Check out the tweet right here:

The film is directed by Omung Kumar B and is co-produced by Sandeep Ssingh and Suresh Oberoi. It is slated to release on April 5. But with the troubles brewing around the film, it seems highly unlikely that the biopic will have a smooth release. We even tried reaching to the makers for a comment but they were unavailable. Guess all we can do now is wait and watch how the matter progresses from hereon. Stay tuned to CineBlitz to get more updates on this front
