The film Batla House is a thriller based on the real story of the encounter at the Batla House (Delhi), which took place on September 19, 2008. The film stars John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur in the lead, and also stars Ravi Kishan and  Prakash Raj. John will be seen rocking his new look with the moustache created especially for this film. The poster of the film flaunts his moustached look, which is different from other looks he has sported so far in films.

John will be seen playing the character of DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. The film has been completed, and shooting has been wrapped up, and will now go under post- production. After final pack-up on the film, John, along with the entire crew celebrated with a good time. John has shared pictures of him and the crew who looked happy and satisfied with the completion of the work. The film is one of the most awaited films, since it is based on a true incident that the public want to know the details of, hopefully which they will assimilate via the narrative of the film.

Nora Fatehi will also be making special appearance in the film. Lately, Nora has been grabbing eyeballs with her dance numbers and it might be so with this film too.  John was last seen in Satyameva Jayate which was a critically acclaimed film. Apart from Batla House, John has one more release  in the pipeline — Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW), which will be released on 12th April this year, before Batla House. This year, John has a lot on the cards for his fans to revel in, and so far, both his films looking highly interesting. This thriller is directed by Nikhil Advani and will hit the theatres on August 15 this year.
