Though Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s Kabir Singh has been quite successful at the box office, there have been contrasting point of views regarding Shahid Kapoor’s character. And recently, in an interview with a leading portal, director Sandeep Vanga Reddy tried to defend his film and said a few things that did not go down well with viewers and he received severe backlash. Now, while talking to a leading daily about his comment on violence in a relationship, Sandeep said that his interview was cut and edited in a wrong way which created a bad impression about him.
Sandeep said, “I had to say what I had to say. And then they cut out portions of my comments. Now people don’t know what I said before and after those comments. The content was edited in a very wrong way so that a section of women get another chance to attack me. But I was trying to explain my protagonist’s mindset. Violence may be his way of expressing love. It’s not mine.”
Couple of days back when he was asked about violence between the couple in the film, in an interview, Sandeep had said, “When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman, if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there.” The comment was not well received and the controversy followed.
