“Kahani’ in Tamil and Telugu! Mohan Kannan, the voice behind Laal Singh Chaddha’s song stoked about the superhit song’s adaptations

Aamir Khan is set to meet his fans soon in theatres with the latest film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film hits the screens in all Tamil and Telugu apart from Hindi. “Kahani” crooned by Mohan Kannan, with music by Pritam and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, was the first song to be released in Hindi without visuals to ensure the audiences’ attention is diverted to the actual hero of the music – the music itself and the team that put these pieces together. The Hindi version of the song received great appreciation and love across the country. Mohan Kannan, who has sung over 100 songs in multiple languages over a period of 15 years in the industry, has also sung the Telugu and Tamil versions of the Kahani songs.

Sharing his thoughts, he said, “My association with Laal Singh Chaddha through the song Kahani has been absolutely wonderful, and I’ve had some memorable interactions with Pritam, Advait and Aamir Khan because of this. Amitabh Bhattacharya has outdone himself with the Hindi lyrics and Bhaskarabhatla and Muthamizh have translated the same for the Telugu and Tamil versions beautifully. This is very special for me as these are my first releases in these two languages, and considering I’m a Tamilian myself, I’m super excited for these. I hope these versions get as much love as the Hindi version has been getting.”
