Bold and beautiful perfectly define what Kangana Ranaut is. She carved her way to success through a lot of hard work and proved to everyone that she is here to stay. We all are aware of her candid answers and bold moves and let’s admit it that the audience is a fan of it. The Manikarnika actor did not stop dissing industry people when they were wrong and made a relevant point when needed. And unquestionably her acting is par excellence. She managed to impress the audience from her debut film and is continuing to give dynamic roles thereafter. From Simran in Gangster to Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, the actor amazed the audience and also became one of the highest paid actors in the industry. Kangana is obviously a delight to watch on the big screen. So to celebrate her 32nd birthday today, let’s take a look at some of her most iconic roles that stayed with the audience even years after the release of the film.
# Gangster: Kangana Ranaut marked her debut with this film alongside Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja. Considering it was her first film, Kangana still went for a bold role. She played the role of a gangster’s girlfriend and an alcoholic and her journey left everyone awestruck. She even romances the two actors on screen and her chemistry with both looked stunning.
# Fashion: Taking up another bold role, Kangana left everyone impressed once again with the acting skills in Fashion. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the film was all about the fashion industry and its nuances. And Kangana outshone others on the screen. She plays the role of a top model who is replaced by Priyanka Chopra and showed how the character struggles with this failure. From her attitude-filled ramp walk to her character’s death scene, each and every moment gave the audience goosebumps.
# Tanu Weds Manu: Kangana loves to experiment with the kind of roles she does and yet again we saw her in a completely different role in Tanu Weds Manu. Kangana aka Tanuja Tripathi is a bold, daring girl in the film, who is head over heels in love with a local gangster (Jimmy Shergill). She meets Manoj, R Madhavan’s character, for a marriage proposal arranged by her parents. She then tells him straight forward that she has a boyfriend whom she wants to marry and rejects Manoj’s affection. The story unravels beautifully and her budding love story with Manoj and their chemistry makes this film a delight to watch.
# Tanu Weds Manu Returns: While many movies only show us the story until the marriage, it was Kangana’s film Tanu Weds Manu Returns that showed us the aftermath of it in the most comic way. Kangana was the star and seeing her in a double role was a blast. Her sophisticated wifey avatar and her athletic avatar as Kusum are roles we can never forget.
# Queen: This Kangana movie is almost everyone’s favourite. Her character journey to self-exploration was an inspiration to everybody and the dialogues delivered by her were amazing. We can surely say that no one else could have done a better job and she truly is a queen. She even inspired many women after this movie and gave a sweet message in the most fun way. The movie was entertaining throughout just because of Kangana and her acting skills and her chemistry with Rajkummar Rao was also worth a watch.
# Simran: Who would have thought that we will see Kangana rob a bank! But we did in this crazy story of Simran. The actor played the role of a divorcee-turned-gambler turned-bank-robber. The story is interesting and Kangana keeps us glued with each and every twist in the story really well. Simran – The Lipstick Bandit was a pleasure to watch on the big screen and the story became captivating because of her.
# Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi: Kangana’s most-recent movie was a biopic of the brave Rani Laxmi Bai. The actor gave a thrilling performance in the film and even stepped into the shoes of the director for it. Kangana received much appreciation for the kind of work she did in this movie and shut many mouths that were questioning her capabilities. Kangana as Rani Laxmi Bai was fearless, brave and courageous and she etched a special place in the audience’s heart with this character.
Well, these were our favourite iconic roles that Kangana essayed. Now we are looking forward to her upcoming projects like Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Panga, Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya and Jaya, the biopic on legendary politician Jayalalithaa. We at CineBlitz also would like to wish the talented actor a very happy birthday and wish to see more of her on the big screen. In the meantime, stay tuned to this space for more.
