India’s first professional athlete from the LGBTQ+ community, Dutee Chand has been approached by a lot of filmmakers for her biopic. However, she seems to have already made a choice of Kangana Ranaut playing her role in the movie.
In a leading daily, Dutee revealed that she has been asked by a lot of directors to buy the rights to make a movie on her life. She was quoted, “I have got requests from so many filmmakers who are keen to make my biopic, but I haven’t given the nod yet. Apart from Anil Kapoor and Rakeysh Mehra, a lot of actors and actresses have independently reached out. With the number of requests coming my way, lagta hai meri story bahut hit hogi.”
Talking about who could portray her best, she said, “I think Priyanka Chopra did a very good job in Mary Kom. While I don’t know who will eventually be selected, I think Kangana Ranaut can portray me perfectly on screen, I like her as an actress.”
Responding to this, the Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi actress replied she’s humbled by the request. She said, “That’s very kind of Duteeji. I am humbled that she feels I am worthy of playing her.”
Currently, Kangana is busy with her upcoming release opposite Rajkumar Rao, Mental Hai Kya, which has already released its official motion poster. The film has been directed by Prakash Kovelamudi and is all set to release on July 26, this year. For more Bollywood news and updates, stay tuned to CineBlitz.
