If you are a cricket fan and had been one in the year 1983 when Kapil Dev with his Team 11 created history in the Lord’s Cricket Ground, then this week’s Kapil Sharma’s comedy show is your chance to revisit the past. On this week’s episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, Captain Kapil Dev will go down the memory lane and will narrate an incident from his match against Zimbabwe. Read on to know more.

When the team sat down on the same stage, there were lots of secrets to be shared and a lot of revelations. One such incident that they recalled was a match against Zimbabwe which was not recorded due to media strike. It was a do or die match for India, in which India needed a minimum of 311 runs in 60 overs to retain their rank. When asked about it by Kapil Sharma, Kapil Dev replied, “It was just a target of 311 and we all thought that it was easily achievable, so when our innings started, the openers went on the field. I thought I will quickly have a bath and freshen up before I have to step out on the field. But I hadn’t even finished bathing and I kept hearing the news that we are one wicket down, we are two wickets down… by the time I came out, I had to quickly pad up without even realizing what exactly was happening. That day I scored a total of 175 not out.”

Wow, now that’s inspiring, isn’t it? Guess all his anger was channelized on the field! Sunil Gavaskar recalled how all the five players who got out at 17 hid around the place when Kapil Dev came back to the dressing room after scoring 175, as they expected a dressing down from him. The conversation already sounds interesting, right? We clearly can’t wait for the episode to telecast to know more about that epic day in the history of cricket. What about you?
