Karan Johar is one celebrity who is always in the news for some reason or the other. While currently, he is grabbing headlines because of his upcoming production venture Kalank, not too long ago the filmmaker was under the scanner due to his controversial celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan. Yes, we are talking about the episode which was graced by cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. While both of them indulged in some friendly banter with KJo, things turned ugly for Pandya and Rahul after the episode was aired.
Some derogatory and objectifying remarks were made on the show, especially by Hardik, which didn’t go down well with the viewers. And everyone started bashing him and KL Rahul on social media. The two were even suspended from the Indian cricket team and were later asked to give a public apology. While things have settled down, recently Karan came forward and expressed his side of the story on Arbaaz Khan’s chat show Pinch. Talking about the controversy, Johar said, “I feel very responsible for the fact that both Hardik and Rahul are going through what they are. Yes, things are said on the show, there is a certain comfort and I can’t speak on people’s personal opinion on the questions that are asked. Maybe the casual nature or irreverent nature of the show leads to some responses that may or may not agree with the fabric of our country.”
He further added, “I am completely in support of the opinions that came out as a result of that because the things that were said maybe were inappropriate. I take the complete blame and take the responsibility as the show is mine.” The Kalank producer also stated that the boys have got the punishment and now they deserve a second chance.
Pinch is a new chat show which is hosted by Arbaaz Khan and will have a new celeb every week talking about their life on social media and how they deal with it on a daily basis. For more such Bollywood updates and news, stay tuned to CineBlitz!
