Katrina Kaif the reason why Prabhudeva replaced Saroj Khan in Suraiyya from Thugs of Hindostan? Find out!

Veteran choreographer Saroj Khan is known for making the entire Hindi film industry to groove on her dance steps. Recently, in Aamir Khan – Katrina Kaif starrer Thugs of Hindostan, Saroj Khan was supposed to choreograph the song Suraiyya. But later she was replaced by Prabhu Deva. Masterji, as the industry belovedly calls her, opened up about the song while exclusively chatting with CineBlitz. We finally have the reason why she didn’t make Katrina sway to her dance moves. Below are all the details about what happened behind the scenes of the song.

Thugs of Hindostan that released in November last year didn’t work at the box office. Despite having superstars like  Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, the film’s performance was below average. While there was a lot of appreciation for Katrina Kaif’s dancing abilities, reports started to circulate that Saroj Khan was first approached to choreograph the song Suraiyya, which later was done by maestro Prabhu Deva. Today, in a conversation with us, Masterji told us the real reason why she couldn’t choreograph the song and Prabhu Deva was roped to fill her shoes. “ Yes, I was approached to choreograph Suraiya, but then Katrina said that if it is Masterji then I have to prepare a lot for it. And the makers didn’t have that much time, so Prabhu Deva came on board,” said Saroj Khan. Well, now we know it wasn’t any fight or difference of opinion that led to Saroj being replaced by Prabhu Deva.

Thugs of Hindostan starred Amitabh, Aamir, Katrina and Sana Fatima Shaikh in lead roles and was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The movie was produced by Yash Raj Films. The film didn’t work with the audience as well as at the box office. Meanwhile, Saroj Khan is back to doing what she does best and has brought her A-game in the brilliantly choreographed dance number from Kalank featuring Madhuri Dixit Nene.  Masterji has also revealed a major plot twist from Kalank.
