So read on to know Kesari‘s review, budget, box office collection, controversy, story, cast, stills – all the important information right here.
Kesari Story
From what we know, Kesari revolves around the Battle of Saragarhi (1897). It was the bravest battle ever fought. Why bravest? Well, because 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army fought more than 10000 Afghans. Havildar Ishar Singh was the leader of the Sikh regiment, which was marked in Kesari (saffron) colour. Symbolising valor, the regiment was protecting Fort Saragarhi, which was an important relay station as the British Empire infiltrated Afghanistan. Though the 20 soldiers under Halvidar Ishar Singh were undisciplined and the Sikh leader of the Army himself was sent to the fort as a punishment, they fought the battle with bravery. Though they all lost their lives in the epic battle, they managed to kill several Afghans and held the fort for a very long time. It is an inspiring tale, which we are sure you’ll love to watch on the big screen.

Kesari Controversies
While Kesari has not run into any controversy yet, there are a few things that did crop up. The first and the biggest one was Salman Khan walking away from the project. Karan Johar had announced a couple of years ago that he along with Salman and Akshay Kumar would produce this film. However, after Salman split with his manager Reshma Shetty, he walked out of this project as well.
Another blip was when Karan Johar announced Parineeti Chopra as the lead heroine of the movie. While he made the announcement, he attached Akshay Kumar’s still from the movie. Twitterati jumped onto it and slammed him and made jokes on KJo. He quickly deleted it and posted the announcement with a picture of Parineeti Chopra.
A set constructed at Wai, Maharashtra also caught fire during the shoot. While reports suggest that fireworks and ammunition used during the filming of the movie set off the fire, no official confirmation has been given. Reportedly, Rs 8 – 10 crore loss was incurred and the shooting was stalled for nearly a month.
