KGF vs 2.0: Yash to battle Rajinikanth – here’s how

As the south audience gets all set to welcome the Tamil New Year on April 14, they are also set to witness the premiere of two very huge films on television. Rajnikanth’s 2.0, which is a VFX delight will be aired on the small screen for the first time. Alongside it, Yash’s hit film KGF will also make its debut on the television. Seeing the amount of love and fandom that both Rajinikanth and Yash have, this is sure going to be a TRP war. The films will be telecasted on the same day on Zee Tamil (2.0) and Colors Tamil (KGF). Rajinikanth’s 2.0 will premiere at 6 pm, while KGF will premiere at 4:30 pm today.

Let us tell you that both the multilingual films managed to mint huge numbers at the box office. Rajinikanth’s 2.0 made over Rs 625 crore, whereas KGF collected a sum of over Rs 200 crore at the global box office. Although there was a huge gap between the collections, Yash starrer KGF was considered a massive hit as it was able to cover the production money pitched in for the movie. As for Rajini’s film, because it was a big budget film, it did not make much profit.

While there is no denying that Rajinikanth’s fan following is way larger than Yash’s, the Kannada star’s film has created a lot of buzz and it registered big TRP numbers when it premiered on Colors Kannada last weekend. Now, it will be interesting to see who wins this battle.

For the uninitiated, 2.0 is a science-fiction film, directed by Shankar in which Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar played a negative role. As for KGF, it is a period drama about Rocky Bhai, who desires to become the most powerful person in the world. The film also featured Gold actress Mouni Roy in a special number.
