While the team of Khandaani Shafakhana including Sonakshi Sinha, Badshah and Varun Sharma are promoting the film in full swing, the film itself has landed in legal trouble. Today, the Delhi High Court asked the producers of the film to screen the film for a Delhi-based sexologist Vijay Abbot, who said that the film is mocking his profession.
Abbot has alleged that the film defames him and his profession. Hence, a single judge bench comprising of Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw steered Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited, doing business as T-Series, to screen the film for him. This way he can have an assurance that the film is not defaming the profession or him. The court will again hear the matter on July 29.
“No statements regarding the movie shall be made and no information about the film will be divulged to anyone. Prima facie is not satisfied with the contention. The trademark since 1st June 2001 hasn’t been used,” stated the court.
Khandaani Shafakhana is set to hit theatres on August 2. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more news and updates.
