Khazana Festival: The annual Ghazal festival to pay tribute to Gulzar

Singer Rekha Bhardwaj, along with other singers will be hosting the upcoming annual Ghazal Festival, Khazana and is busy promoting the same. During an interview, she revealed that the 18th edition of the festival will pay tribute to veteran poet and writer Gulzar.
Talking about the poet, theme and the expectations from the festival, Rekha said, “I feel Gulzar saab is not just a filmmaker, a poet or a screenwriter but we are fortunate to have him in our lives. This year, Gulzar saab will grace festival as a chief guest. The festival’s theme for this year is love. Noted artists and child artists will sing their melodies revolving around the theme. This year, we are giving tribute to Gulzar saab. So, we will be singing Gulzar Saab’s film songs and ghazals in this festival.”
Rekha also felt happy that the festival has been successful in the past years and said, “I am really happy that we are hosting 18th edition of Khazana Ghazal festival and I feel it is getting better with each passing year. We are able to associate with a lot of artists and people through this festival.”
The festival was started in 2002 by Pankaj Udhas, Talat Aziz and Anup Jalota in the form of a Festival of Ghazals that supports and funds cancer and thalassaemia patients.
Other singers performing in the festival for the cause this year include like Shilpa Rao, Harshdeep Kaur and Javed Ali. For more news and updates on the festival, stay tuned with CineBlitz.
