After making some really controversial statements on Koffee with Karan, Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are facing some serious consequences. Not only did they receive public flak, but they might even be suspended from the cricket team for a brief period of time. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and CoA (Committee of Administrators) are currently determining the quantum of ban that they would put on the two players. However, several speculations are doing the rounds. While some say that both the players might be banned for two matches, others suggest that Pandya might get a two-match ban, while Rahul might just receive a warning.

The controversy started after the Koffee with Karan episode starring Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul aired on national television. During the chat show, Hardik made some insensitive and sexist remarks about women, while Rahul mentioned how he was partying till the wee hours of the morning before a crucial cricket match. Though both of them apologised for their actions and statements and sent their explanations to the BCCI and COA, the authorities weren’t convinced that they were genuine enough. What will happen next? Well only will tell. In the meantime, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri are in a fix as they do not know if they can include the players or not in the line-up for the first ODI against Australia that takes place tomorrow (January 12).

There is talk that Indian cricketers might also be completely banned from appearing on non-cricketing shows. We can just wait and watch what happens. In the meantime, stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you all the updates about this controversy revolving around Koffee with Karan right here.
