Actor Ranjit Chowdhry of Khatta Meetha fame passes away

He had moved to USA in the 80s and was acting and writing shows in the West

Actor Ranjit Chowdhry of Khatta Meetha fame has passed away. He was the son of late actress Pearl Padamsee and had acted in films like Khatta Meetha, Baaton Baaton Mein and Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Khubsoorat.

Ranjit had moved to the USA in early 80s He wrote the screenplay and acted in Sam &Me directed by Deepa Mehta which won a mention in Cannes in 1991.

He acted in NBC’s Hit show, The Office. He also appeared in the episodes, Money and Dream Team in Season 4 and Season 5.

On Wednesday, his sister Raell Padamsee posted on social media announcing his death and saying, “ for all those who knew Ranjit, the funeral will be held tomorrow and a gathering to celebrate his life and share his stories on May 5th.”
