Apart from playing the lead and carrying the entire film on her own shoulders, Kangana Ranaut even made her directorial debut with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Initially, it was Krish who was directing the period war drama. However, the filmmaker left the project mid-way and that’s when Kangana took over the reins. Though her creative decisions as a director didn’t go down well with many artists, Kangana was unfazed and continued calling the shots on the sets till Manikarnika was ready for release. This obviously made her the hottest topic of discussion in B-town and later Kangana even grabbed headlines when she accused Bollywood folks of not supporting her film at large.

While Kangana will continue to be controversy’s favourite child, at the moment, it’s her latest film announcement that has raised many eyebrows. Believe it or not but Kangana has decided to direct her own biopic and the film will go on floors around October or November this year. According to industry sources, the Gangster actress already has her technical crew in place. Apparently, Kangana is keen on working with her Manikarnika team once again for her own production film. Confirming the news, the curly-haired babe told a tabloid, “Yes, it is true, my own story is the subject of my next directorial. But it is not a propaganda film with characters that are starkly black and white; rather it is a sincere, heartfelt account of my journey so far with plenty of lighter moments. I’m emboldened by the love of the people around me, who have never judged me but accepted me for who I am.”

She also revealed that Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote Manikarnika, will be scripting her biopic as well. “Around 12 weeks ago, he urged me to let him write a film based on my life. I was nervous and wary initially, but then given his stature and the fact that I trust him implicitly, I gave Vijayendra sir the go-ahead for the project.” Sounds very interesting but in the film Kangana won’t be naming anyone she has struggled with in her life. Her main motive is to project herself and all the highs and lows that she has been through in life. But before the biopic, the National award winning actress will be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga.
