DEEPIKA PADUKONE AIRPORT

We have waited for Deepika Padukone to return to the big screen and after a year, we will finally get to see her in the forthcoming venture titled Chhapaak. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the story is about the acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, for which Deepika will be carrying the role forward opposite Vikrant Massey. Yesterday, (March 21) in the evening, she was spotted at the airport boarding her flight for Delhi where the shoot for the movie is to commence.

We are all familiar by now that Deepika almost always amazes us with her airport fashion looks. This time too she made her look really fashionable as she donned an army printed shirt with ripped jeans and black shoes. So simple still so wow.

Also, did you know, Chhapaak’s title was earlier going to be Gandhak? The director, Meghana Gulzar had shared in a news report, that Gandhak was the Hindi word for sulphuric acid and had come up with it prior to Chhapaak. But what changed? She revealed that the word Chhappak resonated strongly not just to her but everyone. She had also said that Vikrant Massey was one of the actors that she wanted to work with and for his part in the movie, he plays a North Indian boy who used to be a professional but decides to become an actor. He later starts a campaign against acid violence where he meets Laxmi.

Though the details of the release date haven’t been announced yet, we are waiting eagerly to see her onscreen. Deepika was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat co-starring Shahid Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hyadri and Ranveer Singh. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates and news.

Afreen Fatima Zaidi was disappointed that the song ‘Jabra Fan’ was excluded in the movie despite being used in the promotional trailer.  The NCDRC held this behavior of the production house as unfair trade practice saying that a person who decides to watch the film after seeing the song in the promotion is bound to feel deceived, disappointed and dejected. Meanwhile, the NCDRC rejected the contention of YRF that the producer and the actor of the movie had publicly declared the song was being used for promotion of the film and will not be part of the film.
