Deepika Padukone was asked about starting a family and her reply was EPIC!

Deepika Padukone is choosing all the right scripts as she treads further in her career. 2018 turned out to be a special year for her as she delivered a blockbuster in the form of Padmavaat and then she even tied the knot with her long-time beau Ranveer Singh in Italy. After being away from the big screen for a year now, Dippy is back with yet another interesting project. She will be seen in Chhapaak which is based on the life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Anyway, we’ll talk about Meghna Gulzar’s directorial later but for now, read on to know what Ms Padukone had to say about adding a new member to her family.

After an actress has tied the knot with her significant other, she is always bombarded with a plethora of questions by media and to be frank, it does get one riled up at times. In a recent interview, Deepika was also asked the obvious question about starting a family, to which she said, “It will happen when it has to happen. Motherhood trumps being married. That is what I hear from people who have had children.” The leggy beauty further added, “Of course, it will happen at some point but no, I think it is unfair to put women through that, to put a couple through that. I guess the day we stop asking the questions is when we will bring about change.”

Coming back Chhapaak, filmmaker Meghna Gulzar was inspired by Laxmi Agarwal and will portray her life on the big screen. Deepika will be playing Laxmi Agarwal but her name in the film is Malti. Vikrant Massey stars opposite Deepika in this much-awaited project. Chhapaak is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
