1. Dev Anand – Taxi Driver

One of the most loved films of Dev Anand, Chetan Anand’s Taxi Driver starring the Hindi cinema superstar goes down in history. Released in 1954, the film saw the actor playing the role of a rough and tough taxi driver whose rustic side gets charmed by Kalpana Karthik in the romantic drama.

2. Amitabh Bachchan – Khuddaar

Directed by Ravi Tandon, Khuddaar comes with an ensemble star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Sanjeev Kumar, Prem Chopra, Mehmood, Vinod Mehra, Tanuja and Bindiya Goswami in the lead. The 1982 release starred Big B playing the role of a taxi driver and marked his last project with the late actor Sanjeev Kumar.

3. Aamir Khan – Raja Hindustani

This Dharmesh Darshan directorial starring Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor is the story of a super-rich heiress falling in love with a lowly guide and driver. Portraying the role of a taxi driver, Aamir shared a great chemistry with Karisma. His performance in Raja Hindustani is considered to be one of the finest in his more than two decade long career. Pardesi Pardesi continues to be one of the most popular songs of Hindi cinema till date.

4. Ishaan Khatter – Khaali Peeli

Helmed by Maqbool Khan and produced by Ali Abbas Zafar, the masala entertainer features Ishaan playing the role of a taxi driver for the very first time. Starring opposite Ananya Panday, Ishaan has already been making headlines with his rugged avatar and tapori dialect in the film. The teaser of Khaali Peeli has already gone viral and we sure can’t wait to see him driving his yellow and black taxi around the City of Mumbai, and take us on a thrilling roller-coaster ride.

Earlier this week, the official handle of RRR announced that they will be releasing the first look of Jr. NTR as Bheem and today, they have shared a tiny glimpse and increased the excitement to the next level.

The movie stars NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris and sever others in pivotal roles. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film is a period drama that narrates a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju.

The film is set for release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada alongside several other Indian languages. RRR is a pan-India film bankrolled on DVV Entertainments banner by DVV Danayya.

The female version of Pachtaoge sang by Asees Kaur is close to 30 million views across You Tube. The director and choreographer of the song Rajit Dev is super excited with the success. Speaking on his feelings he says, “I’m really glad that the views are almost nearing 30m. This is definitely a landmark in my career. There are always two sides to a coin. But I look at the positive side I’m really glad that people appreciated the artistic appeal in the video. They got to see something new. It’s like a slow poison. Will grow on people slowly.”


Nora Fatehi who is featured in the song is a great dancer and has been quite fond of Rajit. Speaking on their association Rajit says, “My association with Nora Fatehi has been an interesting journey. I met her many years back when she just started her career and I have seen every bit of her growth from small independent films to south films to reality shows and now of course to what she has become today. She is also a dear friend. What brought us together was the international approach towards dance we share. We understand each other’s skills and art, which is very urban and international. The minute she saw me perform and Choreograph she immediately knew what magic we can create if we join hands. And she was right, we never looked back.”

Rajit further says, “I understand the world she comes from which not many choreographers can do in India. Nora Fatehi was looking for a choreographer who understood her zone of dance, which is a mixture of strong dancing, swag, international vibe and attitude that was aspirational and different. She saw that in my work. We both understood the styles which are not yet commercially popular in India but is trending abroad such as dancehall and Afro. These forms brought us together and we became a team. Our duo is constantly praised and followed by many on social media. I would say the turning point together would be our international music video Pepeta which changed the game in music videos in India.”
