Guru, Dostana, Dhoom- 5 films of birthday boy Abhishek Bachchan that you cannot miss

Five films of birthday boy Abhishek Bachchan that made us fall in love with him

Abhishek Bachchan turns 43 today and undoubtedly the actor has come a long way since his debut in Refugee(2000). The actor has time and again wowed the audience, shining in the offbeat roles that he’s been bold enough to do as an actor. Personally too, the actor is in a happy space, as a doting dad to Aaradhya and a loving husband to wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. On his birthday today (February 5) we wish the actor a beautiful year ahead and meanwhile take his fans down the memory lane as we look at five of his most notable films:

His first notable performance was in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon(2003) starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Albeit, it was more of the acting than his lines in the film, his charm won the audience over. His performance as a supporting actor  won him much praise and accolades.

His Mani Ratnam film Yuva(2004) opposite Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi. This is definitely among his best. He plays the role of Lallan Singh, an interesting and complex character who has no parents and has to fend for himself. Ajay, Vivek and Abhishek play three different individuals, living very separate lives and later, an incident brings them together. This was another one of AB’s blockbuster performance that won him both awards and critical acclaim.

Dhoom!(2004) Who hasn’t seen this one now? We love AB as Jai Dixit, the serious cop, while juxta-positioned by Uday Chopra who plays the funny eccentric one.

His next, Guru(2007) starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty is one of his best to-date.

Dostana!(2008) What we really loved was the chemistry between the lead pair and we mean Abhishek and John Abraham here! A straight victory for gay comedy, this one completely stole our hearts in many ways.

These are our pick of Abhishek’s top five performances. Which ones are your favourites? Do let us know in the comments section below.
