As the release date of Kalank is inching closer, the movie is making it to the headlines every day. The first song from the movie, Ghar More Pardesiya was released yesterday. And guess what? It has become the most viewed video in 24 hours throughout the world by getting over 14 million hits. The makers of Kalank also received a great response for its first look and teaser. And this song is an added feather in their cap, we must say! Read on to know more…

It was only yesterday that we saw Alia Bhatt and her graceful Kathak moves in the newly released song Ghar More Pardesiya. The hard work that has gone into learning Kathak and that routine from none other than Birju Maharaj is visible and commendable. Turns out we aren’t the only ones singing praises about this one; the video has made a special place in the hearts of the audience and is spreading like wildfire. The Ghar More Pardesiya video on YouTube has topped the charts and has become the most viewed video in 24 hours throughout the world. Right now, the video has 14 million views and there is no doubt that it has become a hit.

The song has been choreographed by Remo D’Souza and the credit for the vocals goes to Shreya Ghoshal and Vaishali Mhade. The music composer of the film, Pritam is also excited; as this is the first time he has composed music for a period film. Expressing his excitement Pritam said, “I have collaborated with a lot of Indian musicians which is very exciting and I rarely get to do this kind of stuff. Also, the young audience today who are 19-20 year old, they don’t get to hear Bollywood songs which are raag based, classical and in pure Kathak form. So I hope this song works and can promote more of Kathak and classical music among the youth.”

Well, we are loving Alia’s newfound talent and just can’t get over the beautiful and ethereal Madhuri Dixit Nene in Ghar More Pardesiya. Kalank also stars Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal parts. Set to release on April 17, the film is directed by Abhishek Varman.
