In the recent box office release Kalank, Varun Dhawan sports a rugged and much more athletic look. He talks about how he prepared for the role, saying that it was “physically and mentally the hardest training I’ve ever done.” He explains why by saying “I had to get bigger for Zafar’s role, and I don’t just mean bigger, I had to get bigger on the shoulders, I had to get bigger on the arms…”
He details that agility was important for his training, so he incorporated boxing into his workout regime in order to “move my body frame a lot.” He also talks about how he tried many different diets including the popular keto diet, where he added carbs to his diet and ate sushi, and also rice in one meal.
