Apart from being a terrific actress, Kangana Ranaut is also known for her bindass and outspoken attitude. And maybe that’s one reason why she often finds herself surrounded by controversies. As if all the hoopla around her last film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi wasn’t enough, the actress has once again found herself in hot waters courtesy her recent comment on Pakistan over the Pulwama terror attack. Pakistani journalist Shabana Mahfooz has written an open letter severely criticizing the National award-winning actress for saying “Pakistan ban is not the focus, Pakistan destruction is” in one of her interviews.
Addressed directly to Kangana, Shabana has first praised the actress for her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in the letter and then has slammed her for that very particular statement. Further, the Pakistani journalist has asked in the open letter why her country gets blamed for every attack that takes place in India. That’s not all! She has also questioned Kangana’s intention while pointing out the whole Shabana Azmi episode. Reportedly, the senior actress was supposed to travel to Karachi for a 2-day literary event but she cancelled her trip following the deadly attack that shook India. Commenting on the same, Kangana had said, “Why did they organise an event in Karachi in the first place?”
Basically, Mahfooz has said in her letter that if Kangana hates Pakistan so much then she shouldn’t have released her film Manikarnika in the country. It’s quite hypocritical of her to point fingers at others when her own production venture is running in the Pakistani cinema halls. In the end, Shabana has advised Kangana to concentrate on her controversies related to Manikarnika and not anything else.
Now we wonder how Kangana will react to this open letter. Or she won’t at all. Let’s wait and watch.
