The Lok Sabha Elections 2019 are underway and there’s news from Bengal. It’s been reported that violence has broken in the state in Asansol. There has been a clash between TMC workers and security personnel at polling booth 199 in Asansol. The BJP candidate from Asansol Babul Supriyo’s car has been vandalised in the middle of this violence as “no BJP polling agent was present at the booth” said a TMC polling agent. Babul Supriyo is fighting for the Asansol seat opposite actress-turned-politician Moon Moon Sen.

Union minister Babul Supriyo, who is contesting from Asansol, reacted to the voter protest in Asansol’s Jemua area where villagers are boycotting polls at Jemua’s polling booth number 222 and 226 in Asansol due to the absence of central forces (CRPF) at the polling station. Babul Supriyo said, “I will myself take the central forces to that polling station. It is very good that people in West Bengal are aware and they want central forces so that they can cast their vote. This is why Mamata Banerjee is scared.”

The Election Commission had promised to deploy central forces at the booths and now that these booths are unmanned it has caused a heavy uproar with the villagers. Keep following CineBlitz for all the updates.
