Madhuri Dixit’s production venture 15 August slated to release on THIS date

Madhuri Dixit Nene, who is currently the talk of the town courtesy her upcoming film Kalank, has ventured into the web space and we reported about the same not too long ago. But unlike most B-town celebs, the dhak dhak girl won’t be seen acting in a web series. Instead, she has produced a Marathi film titled 15 August which will release on Netflix on March 29. Interestingly, it’s the second Marathi film that’s releasing digitally on Netflix after Firebrand.

Earlier in the day, Madhuri shared the first trailer of her debut production venture on popular microblogging site Twitter and wrote, “So happy to finally share with you the trailer of my 1st project as a producer. This one’s very close to my heart! Coming Soon on @NetflixIndia #15AugustTrailer #SwapnaneelJayakar #MrunmayeeDeshpande #RahulPethe @adinathkothare #NitinVidya #RnMProductions.” Set in the backdrop of a Mumbai chawl, 15 August is about a lover who ends up creating complete chaos in order to win over his lady love. How all the residents of the chawl come together and help him out forms the rest of the story. Since all this happens on the eve of Independence Day, the film is titled 15 August. In a nutshell, the Marathi movie highlights what independence, love, and affection really mean to the community.
