On February 14, more than 40 CRPF jawans were killed in a deadly terrorist attack that took place in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then a lot of celebrities have come forward to financially help the families of the martyred soldiers. Just a few days back, we had reported that Amitabh Bachchan will be donating Rs 5 lakh each to the 50 suffering families. Later, the team of Uri: The Surgical Strike contributed Rs 1 crore to the Army Welfare Fund as a mark of respect for the soldiers who lost their lives. And now Salman Khan’s production house has decided to do something similar.

Salman Khan Films and Cine1 Studios, who have jointly produced the upcoming film Notebook which releases on March 29, have decided to donate a sum of Rs 22 lakh to the families of the terror attack victims. Notebook, which will mark the acting debut of Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl, was majorly shot in Kashmir during the months of October and November last year. It was all because of the Indian army that the entire star cast and crew of Notebook managed to shoot the film in the beautiful valley without any problems.

In a joint statement released to an entertainment portal, the producers of Notebook said, “Our entire crew could shoot safely in the Valley primarily due to the efforts of the Indian Army, the CRPF and also the people of Kashmir, who have constantly ensured that law and order prevail in the region even under the most extreme circumstances. We offer our prayers for the victims and extend our heartfelt condolences to their families.” For more such news and updates from Bollywood, keep reading Cine Blitz.
