Raghubir Yadav, who is well known for playing the role of Bhura in the widely-acclaimed film Lagaan, will soon be seen in Blackboard vs Whiteboard. The upcoming flick is helmed by Tarun Bisht and produced by Nupur Shrivastava, Gireesh Tiwari and Ashutosh Singh Ratan. Along with Raghubir, it co-stars Dharmendra Singh, Alismita Goswami, Ashok Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra and Pankaj Jha in pivotal roles. The film is due to be released this month. On that note, let’s delve into what the film really is about.

Blackboard vs Whiteboard revolves around the modern education system and what it is all about. It focuses on how the education system is being commercialized and often looked upon as a business opportunity today. It is not just the cities that have been involved in such wrongdoings, as even the small towns and villages have delved into these evil malpractices. The film further shines a light on how commercialization is leaving the system in tatters, despite a few educators striving to ensure their children get the education they deserve.

Talking about how the film is relevant to the times, Raghubir says, “Education is the primary stepping stone of every person’s life. Without proper education, it’s extremely difficult to realize your goals. But, while development is happening at a rapid pace, there is an extreme dearth of quality education in parts of our country. Apart from that, factors like extreme poverty and the fact that adults from poor families do not realize the importance of education and, therefore, do not want their children to attend school but instead help in generating income, also play a role. Moreover, many teachers from these areas don’t focus on quality education because they feel that students aren’t interested, and hence, it becomes a vicious cycle of illiteracy. Sometimes, they do realize, but by then, it’s too late. Blackboard vs Whiteboard gives out the message that education comes first. If you want to achieve something, then education is of prime importance. If you don’t study, neither will your future generation, and the cycle of illiteracy and poverty will never end. It’s the joint responsibility of civilians, educators and the government to ensure that literacy comes first.”

When questioned about the experience of shooting the film, he revealed, “The making of the film was an unforgettable experience. We shot the film in real villages instead of shooting it on set just to make sure the outcome was as realistic as possible. The cast of the film looked like they truly belonged to the entire setup too. The story is one of its kind and imparts a very important message.”

Blackboard vs Whiteboard is slated to release on April 12. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more such updates and Bollywood news.
