Kaaka Muttai director Manikandan has been gearing up for his next project Kadaisi Vivasayi. The film has Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead role of a farmer. Now, the director revealed that he had originally approached superstar Rajinikanth with the offer to play the lead role in the film. In his recent interview to a South leading daily, Manikandan said he felt Rajinikanth would be apt to play the protagonist who swears by farming.
The director further said, “If Rajini sir plays such a character, you can’t even imagine the kind of impact it will have on the audiences about farming. I pitched the story to him but he didn’t show interest, so I went ahead and cast someone else.” The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and it is not the first time the director and Vijay have together. Manikandan said to the leading daily that, “Vijay Sethupathi plays Ramaiah, a Lord Murugan devotee. His role demanded a lot of physical work, like climbing hills. Check out the first look below:
