Saand Ki Aankh: Shooter Daadis’ inspirational tale will leave you stunned

Saand Ki Aankh, starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles, has been making quite the rounds since its announcement. Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film went on floors last month. Anyway, the exciting bit is that the real shooter daadis – Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar – will be making their way to Mumbai. How interesting it would be to meet those, especially the firsts, who have aced in a particular profession, right? So, clear the way, folks!

The video posted by Reliance Entertainment on YouTube shows the two daadis who hail from Johri, Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. They have lived all their lives in Johri and their daily routine involved them waking up early and doing the same household chores for sixty years. One day, Chandro made a decision to take the gun in her hand and try her hand at shooting. Why suddenly, you may be wondering? Well, the decision came after Doctor Rajpal opened a shooting range in the village. Chandro happened to take her granddaughter Shefali Tomar to the range. Shefali, however, was unable to load the gun. At this moment, Prakashi, Chandro’s sister-in-law, took the gun from Shefali, loaded it and hit the bull’s eye. Prakashi Tomar, thereafter, joined Chandro. Of course, as usual, there were people demeaning them and trying to bring them down, mainly because they considered it a joke that an old woman could shoot. But the daadi-duo never gave up. BTW, did you know that the daadis have won more than 350 medals during their shooting profession? Impressive indeed!
