Elnaaz Norouzi who plays Zoya in one of the most popular web series Sacred Games has more in common with her screen character than one can imagine? Elnaaz made her foray in the industry with her impressive performance in Sacred Games alongside Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. The show is based on the well-known book by Vikram Chandra of the same name, and the show was quite a hit with the youth. Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, the show recently wrapped shooting for the second season and the graph of Elnaaz’s character has been under the veil. But the fans of the show are highly eager to know a lot more about the show and her character.
Besides, she and her character both being strong women, when asked what connects her most to her character Zoya, the actress said: “It’s easy to look tough on the outside, everyone can do that. But to reveal the vulnerable layers of your past and the truth about who you are is much more difficult. It hurts. I feel Zoya is very real and I can’t wait for SG fans to find out more about her in season 2!”
Elnaaz was born in Iran and had to move to Germany with her family for refuge and later started modelling at a tender age of 14. After having finished her studies, she headed to India in order to pursue her childhood dreams of acting especially becoming a Bollywood actress. When asked about her journey here she said, “It’s not an easy journey but you just have to keep moving forward and work with great people who appreciate your hard work.” We can see how dedicated Elnaaz has been regarding her work keeping in mind that her first language is not English. Her mother tongue is Farsi, she then learnt German and then Hindi.
Apart from Sacred Games season 2, she is also shooting for her new thriller series on Zee5 “Abhay” opposite Kunal Khemu and is looking at scripts to choose her first Hindi feature film soon. Keep reading Cineblitz for more updates on Bollywood.
